Last year Liverpool were on course to win the title and may have done so if it hadn’t been for their incredible lack of form from January onwards when they were drawing against anyone and everyone and if Manchester United hadn’t found their form at that time as well. Where are they now? Well today they had a chance to overtake Manchester United and go up the table. What happened at Anfield against Aston Villa? They lost 3-1. That’s their 2nd loss of the season, since they lost to Tottenham Hotspur on opening day. Liverpool have been one of the Big Four since the Premier League’s inception, but if their form doesn’t buck up soon, then I think their spot in the Big Four, and Champions League spot, will be put into doubt. I predict that Liverpool will be the first team since 1995, when Blackburn Rovers won the Premier League, the only Big Four team to do so since it was created in the 1992 - 1993 season, to be knocked out of the Big Four. The teams I think with the opportunity to take their spot are Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham, Aston Villa, and Manchester City as long as they all continue their form of late, or in Fulham’s case revert back to last year’s form. Have fun in the UEFA Cup next year Liverpool, if you are lucky.
